Can anyone identify the manufacturer or importer of the following knife, please?

Chronicles of Riddick Dagger 16 inch, Item number: 160037225607

It's the dagger carried by one of the "Helion Guards" in The Chronicles Of Riddick.

I contacted the seller and he said it's made in China, no brand name listed. It looks like one of those lower-tier "flashy fantasy" styles but which company is having them made/ imported?

Any ideas folks?

I don't think the seller has any more information on it other than the "China" or "Made in China" stamp. If you're thinking of buying, just save your money. There are better choices, even if you only want a movie reproduction/wall hanger.

I imagine it's only low end junk.

In fact, it looks alot like a letter opener i saw in a dollar store one time, and it was going for much less than 20 bux.

There was a thread or two a while back on the knives from that movie, if you do a search you might come up with a bit more info.

Just doublechecked every thread where the word Riddick appears. Nope, this is a totally new request! Nobody's covered it yet.

You're right about the quality/ price of the knife, no doubt. It's definitely a production knife, which is why it would be nice know for the sake of completeness.

Any ideas, leads?

Looks like a rip of the United Cutlery "Knight's Dagger" which has a twisted wire wrapped grip and 'silver' pommel. Possibly available thru BudK.

I second the Budk recommendation, they have the 'claws' that riddick has so maybe they have this too...

I'm in error, Larry?

How so?

The Pitcherblacker site states, "The knife itself is entirely stock, with no additional modifications added by the prop department. It is undoubtedly a production knife and comes with the matching sheath shown. It is most likely made in either China, Taiwan, or Pakistan. Though similar, the Helion Guard's dagger is not the United Cutlery Knight's Dagger (UC1144) designed by Kit Rae."

Nothing there contradicts what I've said about the knife. The eBay seller confirmed it's made in China.

You've also linked to my previous post asking about an entirely different knife. In that previous post, I was asking about the "jawbone handle" knife seen in the movie. While searching through the threads discussing "Riddick", IIRC a couple of members were asking about it. I've since learned that particular knife was made in its entirety by a Canadian prop company no longer in business.

In this case, I'm asking about an entirely different knife in the movie: an elusive unnamed dagger made in China, one that would be utterly forgettable if it hadn't appeared in a movie.

Nobody's ever located or even discussed the origin of this brand/ or model of knife on this board, unless I've missed it. Since you seem to be more adept at using Blade Forum's search commands, I would be most appreciative if you would link the thread on Bladeforums where this knife has been discussed in the past.

@ Phil and Merek.

It does look like a Bud K or SMKW product, doesn't it? It isn't in their catalogs, though. I'd guess it's something imported by Frost, Master Cutlery, or Tomahawk, but it doesn't appear on any current online catalogs of those firms, either.

...that's why I'm hoping some sharp-eyed Bladeforums member will come up with the gold!
