A movie quote about how a person ended up in jail from a knife brawl... help please!

Hi y'all !

I remember once watching a movie where there's a dialogue between 2 people; a person in jail and his friend who isn't in jail. The person in jail tells his friend how he got in jail. He said he got in a knife brawl with someone and 3 things happened that got him in jail (which I don't recall perfectly). I remember one of the 3 things was something like "The attacker had a knife but wasn't trained properly on how to use it". I hope someone knows this scene because it's been clouding my mind for a whole week! I just can't find it!
