Hey guys I'm new here so please be patient with me. So basically I would like to get a multitool to EDC while I'm at school. It needs to be bladeless. I want it to have tools along these guidelines. I want a Phillips, a flathead and a hex screw driver. I want a wire stripper tool like the SOG one, large scissors, a bottle opener, pliers obviously and a file.

Thanks in advance, Gylfi3

Well you do not have very many options. The SOG's are designed to be able to swap out the tools that you wan't so you could buy the SOG and add/remove the tools you wan't or do not wan't. Depending on what model you get you would have to buy the tools to put in separately and make sure they are compatible. The only other bladeless option I can think of right now is the new Gerber.

If you don't mind me asking is it high school or collage? I'm just wondering why it must be bladeless. If I think of anything else I will let you know.

Get a SOG pocket pocket power plier and remove the blade and add scissors

I don't use the knife blades on my MTs.

My recommendation would be think about size (pocket or belt) and tool selection. Buy the best tool for your needs and if it the knife blade can't be removed, just cut it off with a Dremmel type cutoff wheel. I've done this with Leatherman tools and it allows them to be carried in places where knife blades are a no-no like plane flights.

I don't think I have ever used the knife blade on my multi-tool. I don't carry it to cut things. So your concept of eliminating the blade is reasonable to me. I always carry a SAK and I reach for it first. There is no fiddling opening the blade and you have a comfortable grip.
