A Mystery Package

So a mystery package arrived in the mail yesterday. And what did it contain but one of my grail knifes I picked up at a gunshow a couple of weeks ago. The blade snapped while I was attempting to repair it. I was heart broken and quickly gave it away. sitflyer got it, modded it, and posted the work in progress. Yesterday that same knife returned here after the modded repair with a great letter from sitflyer who planned the rapid boomerang all along.

I'm flabbergasted. The knife is great. sitflyer's gesture of kindness and generosity is greater.

The entire story of the death and resurrection of the knife is in the short threads linked below.

THANK YOU VERY MUCH, sitflyer!

What a wonderful return home!! I remember reading about your heartbreak. Duane, that was super thoughtful, Sir!! Totally heartwarming!!!! Glad to hear its back in your hands and heart, leghog!

Great story!!! As I (and others) have said many times before, Duane is one in a million!

Duane - what a cool guy!!! That is awesome-and something for an awesome member here!! This is a neat story for me to read this morning - its dark and gloomy here - I was going to do the lawns, but Gosh darn it I just have to stay inside a have a drinkie of Beer ( or 2 ) and do some drawing lol
Congrats guys -this was a good read!

leghog, so glad to hear that you liked what I did :) It was my pleasure really, I got to check out a really cool old SAK, and put my touch on it in it's journey through this world. Thanks for the kind words folks, this porch really is an amazing place for me, and I appreciated being able to participate here in what little capacity I can :) You all are what make it what it is...

Very cool! Well done sitflyer. Congratulations leghog. Another example of of why this place is so wonderful.

That's a great story and a great mod, I almost like it more than the stock blade.
Let's not get carried away here, please. The spearpoint is the KING OF BLADES! :)

I'm taking this SAK to an RSO breakfast at the club house this morning to show it off.

This IS a Great read and a prime example of what makes this forum, the porch what it is!
Congrats leghorn !!
Well done sitflyer, in both your motive and execution !!!:thumbup:

Kudos to you, Duane. I have to admit that I had a suspicion that that resurrected SAK would find it's way back to leghog. I've seen enough of that Duane character to know that he isn't one to let somebody else give up on a grail so easily. :D

Good for you, leghog. Enjoy it, and make sure to keep us up-to-date on pictures of that thing.
