On the 25th April Australia and New Zealand commemorate their men and women lost in war. The day is called ANZAC day from the the letters of "Australian, New Zealand Army Corp." This was first used in 1915 as the above and other nations took part in a completely bungled operation landing thousands of soldiers on the coast line of Turkey.
Service personel from both countries are still referred to as "ANZACS" but this is not as common as it once was.
Go and have a google or wikipedia under ANZAC.
Peace.
