I got a 110 for my birthday with a nylon sheath. A wooden knife belongs in a leather sheath. Well I replaced it with a 110fg that arrived today! I don't know why I waited so long. The fit, finish, blade to handle ratio, everything is spot on! I had a Duke way back, 20+ years ago (grew legs in the fraternity house) but never a 110.
I got into traditional slip joints and have tried several other locking knives and none were just right. I even tried a Spyderco Endura - nice, very functional, but it wasn't for me. Sold it and got the 110. It should be a must have and I am very happy.
I opted for the finger grooves as it looked sleeker and I really like the grip. The wood is beautiful with dark strips. It may be 420hc, but my Big Sky has been deer hunting with me for 10years and the 420hc and it's heat treatment have performed great. I know have a woodsman trio, well quatro, my Big Sky, the 110 a Norlund camp hatchet and one of my trad. slippies. I don't have any Bucks slippies, but that will change.
I hate to say it, but with the cheaper products from overseas, my general impression of Buck had taken a step towards Gerber. I miss them.

PS, the Hartsook, though small is very functional and useful.
