Well, yesterday, I had the big knee surgery at 7AM, and since I've been home, I am laid up on the couch with a little possibles box next to me -in the box I have a case stockman and a SAK farmer.

EDCing the regular way is really a lot more fun, though..

Hi,

Sorry to hear of your surgery, but at least it sounds as if it went well. At least you have two old friends there with you.:) I hope you have some nice pieces of wood to whittle too!

It's really a good thing my wife kept the guns away from me yesterday, because I was ill from the anesthesia and every time I went to sleep I dreamt crazy dreams about grabbing my big blackhawk and shooting the TV or something.

My head is a little clearer today, but knee still painful.

Dang, Slade, the meds are wearing off already? I was going to try to subliminally influence you..."Send me your "47's", send me your "47's"..." Oh well.

Feel better friend. You'll be back on your feet in no time.

Hang in there Zip, it gets better every day. I had my right knee done in 92, and I was on a cane in about a week, and back to normal in a short time.

Did they give you some good pain med? I had Perocets, and they worked pretty good.

Best wishes to ya.

Yeah - I got some percocets - and they help for sure.

I had a ACL reconstruction + meniscus repair. They did it through a scope, but it was six LARGE scopes - I think.

Hope it works out Slade. Do your rehab with vigor. I'm sure you know how to Cowboy Up! Thawk

Wow!

I only had the meniscus repair to deal with. Oh man, ya got my sympathy brother! Keep popping those percs, but don't overdo it on us.

To give you some inspration, a friend of ours, aged 74 just had both knees replaced at the same time. They had him up walking in a day, and now a few months later he's doing excecise laps around the block. Funny thing, he got a little taller as well.

I wish you good luck with your re-hab, and get well soon!

I say go for it! Losing the tube means more time for important stuff - like sharpening knives, logging time on bladeforums and ........ oh yeah, family. :)

Good luck with the recovery and rehab, Zip7.

Get well soon and don't wait too long to take the pain meds. They work better if you don't wait until the pain is well neigh unbearable.

Prayers sent for a speedy recovery.

Advice: get whatever relative you know who is the best cook. Have him/her make up messes of biscuits, country fried steak, mashed taters, etc.

Well, I'm doing a bit better now. I got out of the house today - had to go send an old gun to Ruger to have some work done. So I actually got to pocket my knife today. Still on crutches and sore as can be, but it's been a little bit better each day

Sounds like you ought to give your wife the "pitiful me" look and try to convince her to get you a new "toy" from the local gun/knife shop. Tell her that will give you something to play with while you are stuck laying down.

Good luck and have a speedy recovery, J.
