A new Aproy sheath for me!

A while back I picked up an early Bruce Evans hunter, forged from cable damascus. It's not perfect, but I like it. Cold shuts in the blade, but it should cut just fine. Didn't have a sheath, so I asked Andy to make me one. It came while I was away at the beach, and I was plumb tickled to unwrap it today. Fits like a glove, and is purty to boot. We've certainly got a talented bunch around here! Thanks Andy!

it is the minor defects which define the work of art, a machine is perfect, a masterpiece is just beautiful. as someone wiser once said 'small crack that won't go anywhere', without it it would be just like all the others......

The handle brings out the blue in your eyes.

Such a handsome man!:D

nice rig, Steve.

Thanks Steve. That blade was a wonder to hold. I'm very sure it will cut like a monster. I didn't dare test it that way. Its the nicest knife I've ever done work for. I'm glad you like the sheath Steve. Use that sucker, its designed for hard work. I use mine, and when it gets scratched, just buff it back to a fine finish. That mink oil finish is my favorite. Lemme know if you have any complaints.

Wow, what a neat job...great workmanship too! Several times in the recent past I have been offered to buy a nice blade by an up and comer, but backed off because of a lack of a good way to carry it. Now I know where to look!

I can, without any qualms, recommend either Andy or Leatherface for your leather needs! Different styles, but very good quality from both.

Georgeous knife, georgeous sheath, the high level of workmanship in each really stands out. Chosen a fleur de lis for your maker's mark Andy, or just making a subtle statement about your Louisianan heritage?
If there was a museum or hall of fame somewhere dedicated strictly to knives, I know Steve's collection would probably take up a whole wing. ;)

Thanks Sarge. It was a pleasure to handle such a knife. Bruce Evans is a master. The Fleur de Lis resonates with me. I have put it on all my work. It is tied to my Louisianna heritage. I guess it is my makers mark, though I hadn't thoght of it that way till you asked the question.

Steve, your pics really make that rig pop. Do you mind if I use the pics??

Andy, feel free to use the pics. I'm honored.

Sarge, I do have more than my fair share. But I've been a frugal shopper. This one was on ebay, all rusty and unloved. I guessed at the beauty underneath, put in a very small bid, and wasn't disappointed! :)

Steve, most of us here have more knives than we need, but not nearly as many as we want. ;)

That's really nice Steve! I have one sheath from Andy and another on the way and can attest to the workmanship and quality he puts into each one. I also have leatherface in mind for some YCS karda sheaths based on your recommendation as well, and Dan for a couple of kydex sheaths for kukris.

Nice e-bay find as well!

Norm

Thanks Steve.

Norm. I mailed your sheath same day as Steve's. I'm beginning to wonder.
