Picked this up today. Had never heard of the name I found on the poll, but the price was right. It is stamped "Enderes". Measures 5-7/8 inches long and 3-3/4 wide bit. Not much on the internet about Enderes. They were a tool company that started in Albert Lea Minnesota back around 1900 and had a good run, being bought out in 2013 I think. So that's half of the mystery solved. But I cannot find any Enderes axes anywhere on the internet, and no mention of them making axes. Does anybody have experience with these?? I wish it were in a little better shape, I'm still going to try bringing it back, clean up some of the hammer marks on top and thin the bit profile some. It cam on a straight handle made for a double bit, and was hung upside down. Anything to say about this axe?

Thanks for digging that up, Steve! It's a neat piece of history. It sounds like maybe it was the Harris-Enderes Co. division that made the axes. I do wonder how old this one is. I'm from Iowa originally, which I guess is where the company first started. That's enough for me to make it worth keeping around.
