Just finished this beast. 17" total length. I burnt a lot of sandpaper and patience on this one. I offer this picture for your learned critiques...

Here's the file work.

...and some handle details.

Good to participate, y'all.

Ok. Now that's just ridiculous! :D Great job, Salem! What steel?

It looks lean and mean! I don't know if it's just an optical illusion from the pic, but the only thing I'd even venture to suggest as a critique would be the size of the oval guard. It's probably just the picture, but with the sleek, long blade and the slim handle, the guard looks slightly out of place/big/or something. Like I said, take that with a HUGE grain of salt because I'm not holding it in person (it's really hard to tell in photos), and I think the knife is AWESOME!

critiques...
I can only find issue with your name stamp...

-how are you marking with individual letter stamps?

It looks:
- not well centred, closer to the bottom than the top.
- the STR are spaced much more widely than the AUB
the S and R look like a lighter impression than the others
????

time to get a stamp????
or get it lasered?

That isn't a bowie, its a sword!!! very nice, I love the sleek design.

And I actually think that the stamping of the name adds a lot of character to the blade. I think it fits very well with the stag handle.

Thanks guys. Yes, my name stamping process (or lack thereof) is really getting on my nerves. I'm going to get a stamp made for sure- what's the best place? Rough cost? And thank you white rabbit, I've been hanging in there on exactly your rationale.
Blade steel is more of that Mustang coil spring, I think it's 5160 but according to Dawkind, might also be 9260. Anyone know or use this steel?

Now that is a sick looking Bowie, Salem. I love everything about it.:thumbup::thumbup::thumbup::thumbup:

Looks great Salem! :)

The only thing I'd really pick on you for (via photo) is the hardened area of the blade falling short of the choil/ricasso area.

It's a long and graceful piece... well done

Henry Evers

I think mine was a little over $150, around 5 years ago. It's a simple
design, not just text. Pure text might be less.

My last one from Evers was 165.
Really nice job Salem.
