I saw this bad ass 123 LakeMate, Customized by StoneKnifeWorks (Heath Stone) and had to have it. I love fillet knives and to have a USA made Buck fillet knife Customized by Heath couldn't get any better. It features an Elk horn handle with a brass pommel and finger guard. It has 6 black micarta spacers. It has a blade stamp without a date code and is marked Stone on the reverse tang. It came in the original box with paperwork. I'm in Buck heaven... Check it out...

I would not have been able to pass that one up either....VERY NICE!!!:thumbup::thumbup:

I hope to end up with one of Heath's customs one of these days.

Great knife Matt , is it a user or just for looking at either way it definitely looks good .

I haven't decided if it was going to get used or not. Its pretty and nice to look at so it might end up as a center piece next to my fillet knife collection.

Very nice addition to your collection Matt:thumbup:
Heath did that knife justice! Its Beautifull!

My pictures suck and were done on my phone. There up side down and dark, cant be any worse. But the knife is amazing. I really like that it doesn't have a date code and came with the original leather sheath, box and paperwork. Its a great addition to my collection and I'm thinking of having one done in the other 2 Mate knives, ie. ocean and stream...

That looks grand. Most decent fillet knives in this day and age aren't much too look at, but rather, bare bones, utilitarian, "users" that wouldn't be exactly heirlooms, such is not the case with yours. It looks nice, and if need be, could stand serious use.

The Mate series fillet knives were great and lasted a long time but the foreign made knives out priced the US made Buck knives and ultimately sent the Mates to Davy Jones Locker with the other discontinued models. The problem is that looking for a fillet knife, most people see 10 knives that all resemble each other and they grab the cheapest one. They don't see a forever guarantee and a fine piece of cutlery. They figure one is just as good as the other.

Now I have a piece of Buck history, that looks great and will last forever. My oldest daughter has already staked claim to it after I die. I told her don't rush things...
