Hey currently i am looking for a new EDC knife. i currently have an CRKT M-16-13Z a good knife but only AUS-4.
im looking for a good knife at around 30-45$ for EDC

Thanks for the Help-Graham Pratt

The Boker Subcom is a great little knife that acts big. The Native is another option, great steel either way you go (S30V or VG10). A lot of people like the Endura and Delicas, but I was not impressed with mine. Good luck, and any steel is better than aus 4, so it's going to be hard to go wrong.

Check out the Spyderco Byrd line, a lot of inexpensive knives with decent materials and ergonomic design.

k-bar dozier, native or delica,

what aside from price and better steel are your requirements?

I'm liking the Camillus Heat SF/PE at $40.00 from a Gun Show NIP. Great little "robo assist" edc. If your liking little, I agree the Boker Subcom Plus is worthy. A good worker is the CS Voyager and Ti series, look over on the For Sale or Trade forums for some great deals on those. Also the Spydie Native is of mention.

Matador-

I loved my A.G. Russell Featherlite. If you don't mind a small knife, it is a great buy. Ultra light, very thin, and pleasing to the eye (imo). And can't beat the price!

Kind of depends on what you want in an EDC. Any of the following should do. All have better steel than AUS 4. Most have 3" blades, although some of the Byrds are longer. I see that the M16-13Z has a 3.5" blade.

Kabar Dozier for about $20.00 3" AUS 8 steel
BM Vex about $40.00 3" Chinese steel should be = AUS 8.
Spyderco Byrd line about $20.00 Chinese steel in the AUS 8 range.
Spyderco Native about $40.00 3" VG10 or S30V (gotta go to Wallmart to get the S30V for $40. The Native III in VG10 is on the web for low $40's.

a spydie might do you good. byrds are allright-but for a little more you can get a much better domestic product.

thanks for the help waht do you think about the crkT wild weasel. found a great deal online for it

im also looking at the KaBAr MULE and the Gerber mini Covert only 440a steel though

The Wild Weasel is probably a good knife. It's a little small for my hand, though, unlike the Pat Crawford original.

The Ka-Bar Mule is a big, solid knife, larger than the others recommended here. It's a good deal.

I have no experience with the weasel. Best price I found for it on line was $68. If you willing to pay in that range for your blade, that opens the door to a whole range of options that no one has mentioned. Spyderco, Benchmade, Ontario RAT1. Lots of good stuff in that price range.

I think the mule may be a bit large for EDC unless you don't mind using a sheath. It's a BIG folder. But it is good steel and built like a brick "telephone booth".

I don't think the steel in the Gerber will be an improvement over what you already have.
