recently got my last x-mas gift to myself, a bud nealy amoeba, was never really interested in this nealy (i have a pesh kabz also) but after handling it i was excited about it. when normally carrying fixed blades concealed the handle pokes me in the ribs and annoys me,esp. when driving,&handle of the amoeba looked to take care of that problem. i got the knife last week, and must say it is a great carry knife, light, excellent sheath system (its the MASS sys that i like, not the MCS) quick to draw and is much more comfy to carry than anything else i have tried. also very sharp right from bud, one of the few knives i have gotten lately which was plenty sharp right from the maker (like all should be imho, why do some custom/factory makers NOT ship the things as sharp as possible?????). also the abbreviated handle is remarkably firm in grasp, wouldnt have any probs w/losing the grip/etc, very well designed imho. the handle on mine is a checkered G10.
have been carrying it IWB strong side behind me kahr P9 in an allessi holster and my emerson spec war CQC8 in my front right pocket., have to say it is an excellent combo, the best i have found yet.
dont hear much about the amoeba, anyone else tried one yet??
this shows how much actually looking/handling something helps ya make good choices in gear, after just looking at pics, i didnt particularly like the amoeba, didnt think it was for me, but after trying it, really really like the idea of the abbreviated handle. the only con is i wish i woulda gotten the damascus blade/carbon fibre handle version, wasnt that much more, dont know what i was thinking about......
but anyway an excellent carry knife ya dont hear a lot about. give one a try and ya'll will see what i mean.
