We have a new Gold member who is a really nice guy. Welcome Greg!

I hope Greg will start posting here soon but he may be a little shy. He didn't get a very good reception when he first joined.

As soon as he figures out the picture thing, he will be posting some of his stuff, and it's nice stuff too.

Welcome to the Buck Forum Greg. This place has super folks to chat and learn with. We even blow off steam here sometimes (hopefully not at each other).

In this little spot on the BF we get happy for each other, sad for each other, and some times feel pain for each other. So.....don't be shy about jumping in these waters, their just fine and no crock's here to bite your arss;).

Welcome and I'm looking forward to seeing your pictures, which makes me something of a hypocrite since I'm not up to speed on taking digital photos, but I'll get there. Posting is easy. I have used Image Shack for years with no problems. Their system is straightforward.

And as I said on some other threads:

Go here:

http://www.imageshack.us/

You notice the Browse button, click that and it will list items from your desktop or files. Click the one you want.. Choose the 640 X 480 size option for message boards. Then click upload. Eventually a list of links will show up. Choose the "Forum code" link, highlight and copy the link, then paste it to your post at bladeforums.

If you can't upload successfully from the page I linked, there is a link that says "Can't upload? try this." Click that and try that. That second upload page is the one I use. It depends on your computer and program which works for you.

Once you get the hang of it it is easy. Good luck.

Welcome, Greg . I think photo bucket does things to my PC as when I click to view some of your pictures I get a warning saying this program is entering and retrieving data its not allowed to . "Do you want to continue?" So, I think I need to go to some other photo posting system like imageshack . Also, whats the benefit of becoming a Gold Member ? Thanks . DM

WElcome Greg. Come on in and sit for a while, I am sure someone will give you a Dave decoder ring befor to long. The other decoder rings you will have to get on your own though.:D;):) HL

David, a Gold member first and foremost is helping to support a website that we have come to enjoy and learn from. Other benefits are -

Private Messaging
Avatars
Signatures
Attachments
Ability to post in the For Sale Forums (Gold, KnifeMaker, Platinum & Dealer Members)
Ability to change their own custom title (platinum member)
Feeling good about yourself for helping keep BFC open.

For me, the avatars, sigs et al are just the icing on the cake. The main reason I went for a paid membership is that in the case of Platinum, it costs me just 14 cents a day to enjoy a site that is both educational and fun.

I am a firm believer in 'fair trade' practices and for me, 14 cents a day to support BF is a fair deal.
