While all the excitement is going on with the BK62 (which I will get for reference) I found a knife maker in North Carolina who made this. He got a lot of details right, and some not so, but overall I am very pleased. The biggest departure from the original is it is a full flat grind, like the Ka-Bar, though does not have the same spine detail.

It sports a 4 1/2" Brazilian wood handle on a 4 1/2" 1095 blade.
 
Thanks. It was thickest not at the centerline but closer to the spine. By maybe a third. That is what made it unique. Like an backward airplane wing. Or a Sierra Matchking. Way, way, way before its time.
