This is my second knife by SDS and I love it. I got it in the mail today. It's a Camp blade that he made, I also ordered up a special sheath from him. I was looking for something that could be carried horizontally and traditionally and this fits the bill perfectly.

This is my first orange handled knife. I never was a fan of orange on a knife, but the picture of the knife looked great when I saw it and now that I have it, I absolutely love it. The blasted finish is sweet.

The handle is VERY comfortable and is G10, my first G10 FB. I enjoy not having a lanyard hole, as it would get no use from me on a knife of this size. I haven't been this excited about buying a knife since I bought my Graham spear point.

For all of you that haven't checked out SDS - Give him a try, you'll be happy with it.

I've also got a Skinner he made that I was luck enough to snag in the Pay it Forward thread.

I'll be posting more pics when I'm able to put this thing to some real use.

It rides high on the belt, just the way I like it.

that's a great looking blade...Shawn's work is top notch... i just got a knife from him today... i love it..:D

I just checked out the bowhunter's special - That think is sweet. He's a great guy to work with his knives are top notch and scream to be used.

The little skinner in the last pic has had my attention since the first time it was posted. That is a great looking knife. I love that the blade is swept up as much as it is.

Congrats on two great looking knives. Letme know when you get bored with the skinner.;)

i like shawns knives, i hope to get one at some point. i handled some at the wanenmacher arms show and really like the fit and finish. his leather work is great too.

Thanks - That skinner gets a good bit of use in my kitchen trimming fat from meat and preparing meat. I've yet to use it to skin anything.

Thanks for the comments.

No links that I know of TF. He frequens the forum and user name is SDS. If you search for threads created by him you'll find a good bit.

Great knives.

That's one of the reasons I like the upswept blade. I kinda like a knife like that in the kitchen. Keeps the knuckles further away from the counter, onions and other stuff. Also keeps the wrist at a more comfortable angle when cutting horizontally.

I know. Sounds odd but if its a reason to buy another knife, can you blame me?:p;)

I like the blade shape on that one. Not in total love with the black liners, but the orange G10 is great for in the woods. Looks like a super functional little sheath also.

I remember that skinner---you made salsa with it! Yum! The camp knife looks awesome, congrats. He makes some good looking stuff.

Good memory ;)

I've got to get that camp knife in the kitchen as well. I'm trying to put together a short overnighter with a buddy of mine so I'll be able to put her to some use hoepfully fairly soon.

Anthony, I'm glad you like the knife and thank you for the kind words here. Thank you to everyone else for the compliments as well.

Mike, thank you for linking to the knife group site for me. I have been trying to get a website up and going for awhile now but it has been taking much longer than I'd intended. If I can ever get it up and running it will be at sdsknifeworks.com.

I very much enjoy hearing all of the complimentary comments and I very much appreciate any critiques anyone has of my knives. I can't make them better without good end-user input and I value the opinions of those of you on WS&S.

Thank you all again,
Shawn S.

Hey Shawn - I'll be able to give a much better review once I'm able to get out in the woods or my yard with it.

Thanks again and good luck getting your site up and running.
