Hello All,

Here is a new knife completed by one of my apprentices. His name is Ramon Morales and you may have seen pics of him and his work here before. He just completed this piece for a customer in Ontario, Canada.

The blade is 3 1/2 inches long 5160. The handle is Brazilian Cherry and the guard is made of brass. The OAL is 7 1/2 inches.

As you can see we still love the forged texture and use it often. Our customers seem to like it too. The sheath was made by Ramon and is very handsome although I didn't get a pic of it.

That's a fine looking little knife. I'd be real happy to have that on my belt.

That is all sorts of awesome! The contrast that the forge finish and satin blade offer is great, and I think I'm starting to dig a little bit on brass. Certainly works great with the cherry on that handle - nice work!!!

That is a great knife Mike. We were just talking about Nicaragua. Tell Ramon to keep up the good work.

Really nice Mike!!! Did he do a laminate blade? It looks like it near the clip.

LOVE that handle... VERY NICE!!!

Tell them to keep up the excellent work Mike! :)

I always look forward to your threads, Mike. Full of great knives and passion:thumbup::cool:

Gentlemen,
Thank you for all the kind words. You all encourage us very much.

Matthew, many folks don't like brass and if I had my way I'd use other things as well but we don't have too many others to choose from. We are happy with what we have though.

Jason, I'll tell Ramon. He mentions you often. When you coming back?

Nick, nope, no laminate blade. Must be the way the light is hitting it. That it is something I have in the back of my mind for the future. I'll have to learn it before I can teach it to these guys though.

Blessings to all,
Mike

Mike, I think that might be changing a bit... there's a warmth to brass that seems right on certain knives. In fact, I think you've convinced me to use it on my next one! Funny, as it'll be perfect with the piece of cocobolo I just picked out mere minutes ago...

Matthew, I'd love to see your next one when you get it finished, brass and all!
