A new knife or a hole in my head

Snow day musings. Do I need another knife or a hole in my head? After spending the last two days snowed in with my kids while the wife goes to work, apparently the ER never closes, the answer may not be as intuitively obvious as it seems. Both have Pros and Cons.
New Knife: Pro's- they are useful, I can cut stuff, I like knives, it can be passed down to future generations.
Con's- knives cost money, explaining to my wife why I "need" another knife

Hole in my head: Pro's- I can store stuff in it (maybe a knife), it's cheap
Con's- If I decide I don't like it there is no re-sale market, I have an unsightly hole in my head.

I know I can get sound, well thought out, reasonable advice here. If the decision is for a new knife, I'm leaning towards a Mini Appalachia. If anyone has experience with this model (or holes in your head for that matter) feel free to share.

Explaining a new knife, (or gun, or other similar goodies), can be pretty frustrating. Back in the day, (when my wife and I had real jobs), there was no explaining to do, I would simply open one of her closets and say "why do you need so many purses and shoes?" Pretty much settled any argument quickly!
Fast forward to now. If I wanted to buy any expensive toy, the hole in my head would be .45 caliber, fired from my wife`s tiny hand.

If you are set on a Mini Appalachia, the only place you can get one is here (while you are there, check out the sweet holsters) http://www.rgrizzleleather.com/handmade-knives.html

Well, after some thought, making a hole in your head may cause some vital, much needed fluids to leak out. Leakage of fluid from the cranial area may not be ideal.
So, it may be in your best interests to opt for a new knife.

Just my .02....

I've had a long time to accumulate holes in my head. On my last visit with my Craniologist, I was informed in no uncertain terms that one more hole in my head would be the end of me. So knives are the only option I have left. :( :D

PS: My wife of nearly 40 years informs me that the only reason I've managed to get this far is because the rocks in her head fit the holes in mine.

Don't over think it too much........if there's a knife you want now get it while you can, you can get a hole in the head anytime:p

Form what I hear the maintenance of having a hole in your head is murder, I'd stick with knives, besides why settle for one or the other, often times a new knife can lead to having a hole in your head, problem solved!

The mini Appalachia looks like a heck of a knife, I think this is a smaller version of it? this one's a three finger knife at most, but a heck of a handy knife ot have around, great for pocket carry. It was decked out by MykeM, I won it in a giveaway he did:

I could make the decision much easier for you, by purchasing the last one. I'll hold off for a little while; but if you wait too long......

I decided that the pro's of a new knife far out weighed a new hole in my head and pulled the trigger on a Mini Appalachia with a custom sheath. Let the wait begin.

Fill the new hole in your head with epoxy and sand it down, like I have heard mentioned for gaps in a handle.:D
