Hey there everyone,

This place has been a refuge for me for many years during rough times, and a fun place to just hang out during the good times. So I wanted to fill you in on a few developments that have taken place in my life since November.

Within the span of 2 months I graduated from Massage Therapy school and My marriage broke up and I moved out of the house. No real details needed, I just wasn't happy and realized I deserved to be--AND my kids deserved to live in a house that was peaceful and not full of fighting and anger. We have two kids that we both place on the very top of our priority lists. I see them 2-3 times a week and call and email most everyday. I get along well with my ex and we stay civil, even friendly.

So that's my news in a nutshell. Just thought I'd fill you in on where I'm at...

Thanks to all of you for all the kind words and prayers you've given me in the past when times were hard, and for the laughs and comraderie that keep me going:)

Congrats, Rob, on the new start.

I made a new start here once too. It's a good place to begin again. Set a course and go. You know what's best for you and yours- so clear sailing, fair winds and following seas.

Oh, yeah. Take a khuk. Never a bad idea. ;)

Thanks for the public fill in, Rob, it adds to this community.
You've learned to go by your own stars, and we've watched that process in you.
I observe many of you 30-ish year olds just get smarter and better, fuller; while old munk just decays with high radiation levels.

Thanks for the update Rob. Its good you've taken your happiness as a priority too. Let us know if you need anything.

And hug your kids. They're lucky to have you.

Sorry to hear about that. I hope everything turns around for you. I also turn here when things go sour. Best of luck to you.

Thanks for the update, Rob. Life is both too long and too short to be unhappy. May the wind always be to your back, friend:)

Thanks very much for the support guys--it is much appreciated:)

I should also say that my wife is an excellent mother and without that knowledge this all would be unbearable--I can at least rest easy that she makes every decision with the kids' best interest firmly in mind.

:D Funny you should mention that (well not really given where we are;) ) because I just threw (read, "carefully placed") all my edged weapons into a black duffel bag that last time I was at her house to pick up the kids. I worried about getting pulled over and the cops thinking I had plans to arm a small militia bent on taking over Rhode Island:D ;)

I've a friend who divorced and helped raise his kids- he did not allow the divorce to remove him as a father.

and now you can say you have two.

Glad to hear you are on a positive course, MR. It is sad when a marriage doesn't work out, but sometimes it is for the best. It is great that everyone is getting along better now. Like you said, it is difficult for anyone to thrive in an atmosphere of tension and anger. Best wishes.

Eric

As long as you're happy with yourself that's what matters. how's the massage therapy working out?

I'm glad you did what needed to be done, sounds like the best outcome for everyone involved. Congratulations.

Thanks again guys:)

So far so good. Thanks for asking. I'm am teaching at the school I graduated from as an assistant instructor and am enrolled in their (paid) teacher training program to become a full instructor in 4 subjects. So that will keep me busy and paying the bills until the massage practice takes off.

What specific modalities are you interested in? My personal are Thai Massage, Deep Tissue, Reflexology and Accupressure. Haven't been able to practice since my car wreck last August I do miss it.

Good luck, Rob on the new start

Kids that have parents that don't engage in pissing contests over the children end up with kids that are less likey to act out and have emotional problems.
My girlfriend's daughter turns 15 in about four hours and the last 5 years or so have been really easy for her because both parents speak regularly and work together to make decisions. Makes it really hard for the little minx to pull one over on them.
Good luck on the new start.
