Remember this one...
coyote_scraper.jpg

"Coyote Scraper" with random damascus/forged finish blade, wrought iron guard, California Buckeye Burl throat and Coyote jaw-bone handle with a damascus tooth.

... well, Paul Long and I were discussing sheaths and he introduced me to a fella by the name of John Cohea in Atlanta. John makes period style sheaths and one I saw some of his work I handed him the Coyote knife above and told him to go to town. Here's what he did for me..

... the rawhide sheath is beaded with horse-hair accents, has a bear claw on the front and John's symbol (a coyote claw) on the back.

This one will be going to Chuck Ward for some professional pix next week and then up for sale. You can expect more period style pieces from me and John soon.

J.- I like it!

But, I hope this is in addition to your old look,
Rather than instead of. ;)

I'm glad you like the sheath J. If you like the pics wait until you see it in your hand! I am meeting with the local knifemakers today for lunch, and I am going to show this piece around there. It will go in the mail right after that.

Nice job as usual John. What a great addition to the knife. Always have admired your work. I guess that's what being a skinner does. I really appreciate the primitive look. The knife is quite a piece of work as well. The combo will make someone real proud.

Thanks guys and thank you again John. I've already got some new ideas rolling around in my brainpan that'll be needing your special skills.

That 'yote off your place J?
You fellas make a good team!
I like the change of pace.

Thanks guys. I look forward to working with J on future projects. I have always admired his work, and to now be making some sheaths for him is quite the honor for me!

Two great guys come together to make a fantastic package. John's work is recognizable in an instant, and Jay, of course, is a master.

Thanks for posting pics.

John! That was fast!

Wow John, nice sheath to compliment J.s knife. You must have been chewing that rawhide on the way home from Atlanta to have gotten it done this quick. Good job ,both of you. Paul Savage
