I have a new member to my family!:D

Sunday afternoon my wife and I adopted a beautiful black cat named "Bali". We picked her up at CAP after she had been there since October (the poor kitty).

We wanted a kitten to raise and train ourselves, but when we saw Bali sitting there in her cage with her head down, I thought about what it must be like to be stuck in a shelter with all kinds of other cats and dogs after your owner died, and nobody wants you because you are already a couple of years old and because you only have one eye.:( Yep, Bali is missing her left eye, we don't know how because there wasn't much information when she was found. But it doesn't hinder her in any way, she is the most loving and friendly lap cat I have ever had the pleasure to meet. ;)

Happy New Year everyone,

Do something special,... someone close to you needs it.

Sounds awesome! I too am a cat lover and am glad that you are loving enough to accept a new member into your family. You should tell people that she lost her eye in a freak balisong accident because she sneezed while doing a paw twirl.

That's one of the sweetest things I've heard in a while. :)
It's good to see that someone still cares.

Hehe, I'm almost crying because I feel so sad for the poor cat sitting with her head down in that cage... Sorry, can't help it, I'm just kinda sensitive when it comes to these sort of things. ;)

You and your wife certainly are good people, 7Cain. :)

Congratulations for the new member.
I have six cats, all adopted from the streets. And two dogs. I must be careful when handling (sp?) my knives cause theyre always making a 8 figure around my legs...

Just had our 16 yr old Tom put down -- rough -- the lady of the house "had" to replace him so the other one wouldn't feel alone. Got an orange tiger-striped "character" from the adoption center. Don't need TV, this 4 month old is great entertainment!! :)

Congratulations on your new family member.

Be careful practicing aerials around her.......... you don't want her to lose that last good eye!

Very neat thing to do! She has a good home!

"Hunters seek what they [WANT].., Seekers hut what they [NEED]"

:D

Kknuckles - I actually did tell someone that it was a balisong accident when she was trying to do a double aerial. I said keep your eye on the balisong but not literaly:(

Ixpfah - Thank you, it was difficult to look at any other cat without thinking of Bali the one eyed cat. This morning I think she realized that she is ours for good, I have never seen such a desire for attention and she is just seems to be getting more comfortable every day.

Geraldo - The figure eights have begun! Now that she is comfortable enough to walk around the house, she is at my feet constantly.
:D She is'nt too sure about what those clickitty..clackitty things are yet so she keeps her distance when I'm going ballistic, but as soon as I stop flinging my arms about, she's all over me.

Ouch - The entertainment is non-stop!:D Since she has a bit of a depth perception problem she stumbles around quite a bit, it's the funniest thing! It's not like she bumps into stuff or anything, she just looks like she's drunk:p and can't walk in a straight line, and when she shakes her head she sometimes gets lost and falls over. Usually you see cats as graceful and agile, but not this kitty.

Clay - singing "This is my GOOD eye,..............do You hear a Cow?" Thanks, I'll try to get pic of her with bali in hand.

ExamonLyf - That cat is going to be put on a pedestal in our home!:D She's going to love it.

UnclePhilthy - I need to be REALLLY careful! The mother in law is FULL BLOODED KOREAN! She's not too happy about the addition to the family:D

Thanks for all the good words fellas! I appreciate your responses, See you soon.

HAHA! I thought about that soundgarden song too as soon as I read your story. Sounds like a cute kitty

:D I'm trying to get Wierd Al to make me a video for her called "Flipping with my good eye closed";)

;) I'm really liking the "wink" smiley, it reminds me of a particular kitty;)

Just buried my last one. He was abandoned when his owner died. Large Persian, dark gray. Have no idea how old he was. Outside cat. He even caught a small cottontail once. Kept wanting in which he had never done before. Last four days of his life, he just wanted to know that some one was close to him. I will miss that old guy for a long time. He was around my house for many years. Still look for him every time I open the front door.
