A new neck knife design

Hi folks.

I've been playing in the workshop again. Its a new design though its more a smaller version of the SPB-1 that i do. I wanted a knife that fit in between the small carvers and neckers i do and my normal bushys.

It's intention was to be one fo those little knives that is handy for anything. It can be belt carried, neck or pocket carried ( or will be when i make the sheaths for them :)) Its also a perfect size for smaller hands, and would IMO make an excellent knife for scouts or any children who have been taught proper knife safety and are comfortable with their use. I know there are a lot of members across the forums who's children go out bushcrafting with them, yet there are no knives aimed at such up and comers. Now there are :)

Here are the 2 knives,

The first is in 3mm 01 tool steel with jigged camel bone handle, black liners and brass fittings

The second is in 2.5mm 12C27 stainless, with eucalyptus burl, black liners and brass fittings.

Opinions welcome chaps, good or bad :)
These are not on my site yet, i need to update it with these and the hunter model i made recently

Atb,
Mark

Love these designs that have "purity".
This is a "goldilocks" knife. Just the right amount of blade, curve, handle etc.

Straightforward and functional. I like them a lot! If they were full flat ground, I'd love them. :D

Very, very nice work.

Oh wow! I like these little guys! That second one especially, I'm a sucker for exotic wood handles.

Nice  You should consider going orange.;)

Just curious what do you use for the sheath?

Thanks :)

I use leather :)

Only just finished making the sheaths, and have just added the pics to the original post :)

Nicely done. Well designed and crafted, a great size and profile for everyday use. As you mention, I could see giving one of these to the appropriate younger person and/or friend. If I were to give one as a gift, I like the idea of the stainless blade just in case the receiver may not be as knife savvy as all of us. Mike

Addition: Though I like the look of both handles and probably lean towards the eucalyptus in appearances, I think I'm a bit more partial to the slightly thinner bone handles.
