Chrome Vanadium blades, blank shield, "High carbon - steel - U.S.A." tang stamp, and ever so faintly... Craftsman Sta-Sharp master blade etch. The "Unbreakable Stag-Type" covers are held to the steel liners with a "V" shaped crimp, a definate Camillus feature which began sometime after 1938. Steel liners, as well as the dual-branding etch suggest that this is a wartime production knife. The dual-branding appeared at about the same time that the Dunlap and Kwik Kut branding for Sears ceased on pocketknives, post 1943. The cover material and style is identical to the earlier (circa 1939-40) Sears Dunlap knives produced by Camillus, as well as more rarely Kents (for F.W. Woolworth) and Fairmounts, possibly other Camillus (A.Kaster & Sons) brandings which I have not yet seen.
