I haven't posted in a while, I thought you might like to see this new one. It will be on it's way to it's owner soon.

This drop point hunter with a 4 1/2 inch damascus blade and wrought iron guard, engraved by me, has a mosaic handle of lace wood, bubinga, dyed sycamore and sheep horn. The overall length is 9 inches. I made the sheath too, it has inlays of sea snake skin and tooling keeping with the overall theme of the knife.

All comments and questions welcomed.

This "knife" and sheath are stunning, the patterns and textures are captivating. I referred to this as a "knife" because anyone who would use it to cut this art-form would be insane (in my humble opinion)

Wow... that is... incredible. I assume you did the damascus billet, too, Mark?

The handle must have been a ton of work. Congratulations on a masterful piece!

Yes, the damascus is mine, I've been using band saw stock that I have amassed through the years in my saw shop for my damascus. Handles like this take me about 15 hours to assemble. Thanks Mark

Thank you, kind sir.

While I agree it isn't meant to cut I expect it to be capable of cutting and have a suitable heat treatment done. To me it doesn't matter if it is art first there is so much lost if it isn't a tool made into art as opposed to art the resembles a tool.

Beautiful work the handle and the sheath look great and the intricate blade is just as wonderful.

Yep, It's not just a sculpture of a knife, she will cut. Thanks everybody

Sorry but I didn’t intend to imply that this wonderful knife would not cut, I would expect it to do so and to do it well but I would personally admire it daily if I was fortunate enough to own it.

Great looking knife!...I also saw one of yours with mammoth tooth that Jim Cooper just posted on Instagram...also a great looking knife...

Cheers/bg

I don't intend to imply such either as I would expect better of the makers we have here on BF.

Again, no problem, I didn't intend to make you guys think you had offended me, you did not. You have been nothing but kind. Sorry about that. Thank you
