This is my second successful slipjoint. It's a big one with a blade that's 4 1/4" from tip to scales and overall length is 10". The blade and spring are both 1095 steel and the handle is cocobolo with brass liners and pins. I'm really happy with the look of it but I'm not too sure about the action. It's not bad but the closing action is not that great. Nice opening snap though. There's a halfstop in there which is cool too. I'd love to hear comments. Thanks for looking.

Looks good I like that, could you do one of those in a lockback? Will you be offering these? I like that design and it looks like a really stout knife.

Thanks guys. I'm just starting out making slippies and I've never done a lockback that turned out nicely. Folders are fun to make but more difficult than fixed blades. I might try to make a lockback next. This one will eventually go up for sale. The action is much smoother now with just a little breaking in.

personally, I really like it. it looks stout.

I would definitely carry that baby!

Wow, Ray that is great looking! I can't wait to see what you do next, and if you start making lockbacks put me on the list!

Ray, I like big folders. That's a nice looking knife! Great carry-over of your style. I would know you made it even without your stamp.

Hi Ray,

Really like this blade and handle shape. Combine this blade and the handle construction/materials from your first Slippy and I think you've got a near perfect design :D :D :D

A lock would make it that much better ! ! !

I'll try to make one with a similar blade in a lockback. The action on this one is getting much smoother the more it breaks in and still no blade play. Thanks again guys for the kind words.

I really like the knife and would be willing to buy one if you could build it smaller. Blade3 to 3 1/2 max. Really like the blade shape.:thumbup:
