Hey guys!
First, I would like to say a little Bonjour! from Canada. I'm not very active on bladeforums but i'm reading you guys few times a week.
Now that i'm a new Spyderco enthousiasm, I think i'm at the right place. I'm into knives probably since 2005. I had some high end production knives such as Emerson, Benchmade, ZT and Kershaw. That's funny because couple days ago, I saw a thread in the general discussion titled "Why spyderco?". That makes me smile because for a while, I was asking the same question. To me those were looking strange, "non-tactical", non-assisted opening, non-coated, etc..... (I was into tactical looking AO blades)
That was before I decided to jump and get my very first Spyderco 5 months ago. That was a PPT. Felt in love with the fit and finish, making coated blades boring. Felt in love with the spyderhole, making AO a gadget. This little knife is so usefull and the ergo is awesome. Had a chance to get my hands on Delica and I can tell the same thing.
My EDC rotation never been that low. All those AO and "purely tactical looking to my taste" are gone. My PPT sits in my pocket and he's backed by a ZT200KW.
Like we say in french: "Il n'y a que les fous qui ne changent pas d'idée about Spyderco."
If there is something I always liked from Spyderco... and Benchmade, is their trainers line. Never had a chance to get my hand on a Spyderco, but those from Benchmade are nice.
Can I ask you why there is no trainer for the Millie or the Para? Those 2 models seem to be the grail of Spyderco, especially for those who serve and save. Is it just me?
At the end, I would say that i'm just waiting to get a Para2 to fill up my EDC rotation and keeping my attention to the new navaja.
Keep on going Spyderco, you got a new fan.
