Hey guys!

First, I would like to say a little Bonjour! from Canada. I'm not very active on bladeforums but i'm reading you guys few times a week.

Now that i'm a new Spyderco enthousiasm, I think i'm at the right place. I'm into knives probably since 2005. I had some high end production knives such as Emerson, Benchmade, ZT and Kershaw. That's funny because couple days ago, I saw a thread in the general discussion titled "Why spyderco?". That makes me smile because for a while, I was asking the same question. To me those were looking strange, "non-tactical", non-assisted opening, non-coated, etc..... (I was into tactical looking AO blades)

That was before I decided to jump and get my very first Spyderco 5 months ago. That was a PPT. Felt in love with the fit and finish, making coated blades boring. Felt in love with the spyderhole, making AO a gadget. This little knife is so usefull and the ergo is awesome. Had a chance to get my hands on Delica and I can tell the same thing.

My EDC rotation never been that low. All those AO and "purely tactical looking to my taste" are gone. My PPT sits in my pocket and he's backed by a ZT200KW.

Like we say in french: "Il n'y a que les fous qui ne changent pas d'idée about Spyderco."

If there is something I always liked from Spyderco... and Benchmade, is their trainers line. Never had a chance to get my hand on a Spyderco, but those from Benchmade are nice.

Can I ask you why there is no trainer for the Millie or the Para? Those 2 models seem to be the grail of Spyderco, especially for those who serve and save. Is it just me?

At the end, I would say that i'm just waiting to get a Para2 to fill up my EDC rotation and keeping my attention to the new navaja.

Keep on going Spyderco, you got a new fan.

Welcome from another Canadian.

I do more reading than posting too, but this place has so much info and opinion that its a great place to just read and learn!

I'm new to Spyderco too, I own a few now but I look forward to owning more and more!

Just out of curiosity, where are you buying your knives? Is there a good place near you or do you buy online? As a Canadian I am always looking for good places up here to buy from.

Hey thank you.
I do not know a lot of places in Canada that carry large lines of knives. Here in Quebec, SAIL Baron is a good place for Spyderco but mostly I get my new items online from Warriors and Wonders in Vancouver. Great service. Fast shipping. Right prices.

I use them too. Them and S&R Knives. S&R is out of Toronto, great guys, but they don't update the website too often.

Canada doesn't seem to have a lot of great places to buy from. Down in the States they have tonnes of good places, but I worry about cross border shipping.

My new EDC is the Manix 2. Hefty and strong that is for sure.

I've heard about S&R. I'll give a look. About buying from the USA, some years ago, I wanted to order from Knifecenter, but the shipping to Canada was terrific high so I discovered W&W.
Someday for sure i'll get a Manix2... probably on the second market. Sometimes, there are so many good deals in the exchange forums.

They have good prices and shipping is limited I think I read...so that even if you order a lot all at once you only pay a certain amount.

It's not even the cost, it's customs. I've heard quite a few stories about trying to get things across, not illegal things, but the fact that pretty much any Spyderco knife with a loose pivot can be "flicked" open. So if customs opens the shipment and can flick the knife open, it doesn't make it to your house.

The Manix is a pretty large and heavy duty knife, and I think a superb deal. $80 and you get something that in my opinion is far superior to an Endura which costs about $60.

There can be some great deals here, but not too many that will ship to Canada, or that are in Canada. Especially not Spydies.
