My opinion of the $40 S30V Native from Wally World? Wow, did you mess up! Seriously - you don't need the BM Gryp now. That Native is a great knife - super sharp - strong & secure lockback - and FRN, not just 'plastic', grip. I worried over the ultimate strength of my first 'blade with a hole' in it when my wife shocked me with it's purchase last June. Wasted effort... I won't baton a 2.8" knife (... or likely any knife! I have a froe for that!). I love my Bucks - 110s especially - and feel that one of them for $25 at W-W is their best folder knife 'deal' - with the Native second (It's more.). The best fixed deal there is the Buck 119, of course ($34).
I have EDCed my Native, less the clip, in a back pocket nearly every day since it came home. My Buck Alaskan Guide 110 in S30V has a finer edge grind, but the Spydie is still a hair shaver - and that's after opening a lot of boxes, clamshell packages, food prep, etc. The S30V holds up quite well. I have several knives so bladed - and none have 'chips'. Someone once suggested that it was the ideal blade material for those incompetent in knife sharpening skills. Well, duh... that's me in a nutshell!
You done good! You may want to cancel the Gryp... mine, an older one in 440C, is dull as can be now - been that way for a while - and awaiting ambition. I have a Spydie 'Sharpmaker' now... may just tackle it's resharpening. I'd take a 110 over it any day - but that's me. The Axis Lock is neat, however. My best BM is the #201 'Activator+' (D2) fixed blade I have - the Gryp is my only other BM. Not a huge fan of BM... will definitely get a 'spare' Native - maybe with all of that great influx of 'economic help' moola. YMMV.
