I'm joining your ranks today, and am pleased to finally do so.

I've admired Ethan, his philosophy, his involvement here and his genial nature.

I ride motorcycles near where he lives occasionally, it is beautiful country and I need to go to the gathering, maybe even next year. I really enjoyed your photos and stories from earlier this year.

So I'm picking up their last BK5 at a local shop today, it's a birthday gift to myself. My next one will be a BK9, as I started camping last year and know these two will be real users. I'm the "knife guy" in our group, and am familiar with every BK&T model.

I own 70+ knives, started collecting about three years ago but have used knives for 34 years or so. Grew up on a farm, and am gradually working my way back there.

So anyway, just wanted to say hi, and hope to meet some of you next year in person, or at Blade in June.

Carry on!

I'm assuming that you are referring to the dragon's tail? I like North a bit in ky, and i would say that we should ride it, but i have a feeling that my dr650 supermoto's pace would be a bit... boring. But i really should only blame the bike if i could ride it to its full potential, so there you go. Lol!
But i was thinking the same thing. I am about 3.5 hours away, so I'm thinking ill get my Becker # soon, and i really want to attend one od these gatherings!

Yes, Deal's Gap. Been going there on sport bikes since 1995. My favorite is the Cherohala Parkway, 2nd Foothills Parkway, 3rd The Gap.

Would bring my bike for the Gathering, then spend a couple of weekdays afterward riding. What a great vacation that will be!

Welcome..... I do hope to meet you ...... Thank you for your interest and your business...... Let us know how your Beckers work out for you.......

Ethan,

Let's count on it!

So I'm not only bit by the Beckerhead bug, but bit by my new 5 as well!

This is going to be a long and beautiful partnership!

By the way, your QC is spot-on. I chose from two 5s, and they were absolutely identical.

Awesome!

Ouch, maybe its because I'm desk bound all day, but I really hate fingertip cuts since they really are "felt" a lot as I type all day. Hopefully it heals up quick.

And welcome to the Beckerheads, there are a lot of great folks around here :).

Welcome to the gang, it'd be nice to have another bike at the gatherings

I wonder which BK has bit more owners? study in progress.

Should start a thread about that. Almost cut two of my toes off with the 9 a couple months ago after over cutting through a tree towards the ground. Got a nice gash and blood in my boot. Welcome OP.

Ouch man, that sounds awful. Steel toe boots in your future?

Welcome to the madness. Next time you are in the area let me know and we can ride. I live where hwy129 splits off of hwy411 in maryville.

As for the love bite, I don't know of any Becker owner that hasn't felt the sting of the blade.

Hawk 590, I'll take you up on that! I'm jealous, you live in one of the very best riding areas on this planet.

And I wasn't mad I got cut, I was pleasantly surprised. I knew the cut would heal, but also that the 5 was a good'un! :)
