  • Today marks the 24th anniversary of 9/11. I pray that this nation does not forget the loss of lives from this horrible event. Yesterday conservative commentator Charlie Kirk was murdered, and I worry about what is to come. Please love one another and your family in these trying times - Spark

Am a newbie to Horton blades...haven't coddled one yet - awaiting a DogFather in todays mail...but I'm a sucker for a good value on a great blade...

so, what's the drift on the steels...? A2, D2 and S7...preferences??? or does it depend on the blade size and expected use/abuse...?

I've heard good things about S7...but I'd like to hear feedback from the users of Jeremy's mid-to-large size blades -

Thanks!

To be honest, I prefer a-2. For overall performance, but, those S-7 blades, will take a hellafied beating,, and hold a very good edge, when polished convex,, all the first run camp 10's. Will be .275 S-7. I'm gettin my heat treat down to the finer levels,, I'm very happy with all my Tool Steels,,
