A newbie to the forum--just saying hi

i just got into collecting Hi imports and man i'm really hooked--i just love the design and feel of these blades
what got me started was a little 12" wood handle Ang Khola with no markings--just loved the design and had to have something better--well i picked up my first Hi import--a 20" Sirupati by Bura and as soon as it was in my hand i was hooked the fit and finish and balance is awsome
so far i have three--
15" Ang Khola--horn by Bura
20" Sirupati--horn by Kumar
AK Bowie by Bura
and now i am hooked line and sinker--i can't wait to get more :eek: :) :eek:

HIKV is terrible disease (Himalayan Imports Khukuri Virus). So far there is no know cure, only a way to manage flair ups by buying more khuks:) You have a great collection there. I'm a big fan of the little HI products as they are the most practical for everyday use. Also, as many in here can tell you, i am a huge fan of the AK bowie. It and the little JKM are my American Express knives. I don't leave home without them;) Stick around. This is a great place with a great group of guys. i promise you'll learn something new every day:)

Interesting starting collection you've got there. Do you use them, or collect? Which is your favorite so far/this week/today?
 
only one i have really used so far is the AK Bowie--went out shooting yesterday and just walking aroung in the desert with some friends(i live in SW Arizona) tryed out the bowie on some chopping and man it is great in the hand --and what i loved most was all the comments on the knife--couple of my friends said now thats a knife--and what can you say that it is--lol
 
forgot to answer your question--i collect but i also use--i just can't let a wonderful blade just lay around--i will use all of them at one time or another
 
I love 'em too. I have several en route and I possess a 15" sirupati that I already love. They are fantastic in their strength, authenticity, craftsmanship, everything.
 
I've seen you around the forums Yit, Welcome to the Psycho Ward or Cantina, as the case may be today! :D

Welcome aboard! You'll soon see that H. I. Khukuris are alot like "Lays" ...you can't have just one :) .

Sorry munk, Hogs and khuks go together like a pair of eyes. You can get rid of one or the other and be ok, but your perception of the big picture will forever be skewed:D

I know a guy who stole two bicycles to buy a firearm.
Then he stole some crank with the firearm.
Then he sold the crank and bought a motorcycle.
The motorcycle was stolen and he got busted.
He was carrying the firearm and some of the crank.
I haven't seen him for quite a while.
