A newbies knife making question.

You guys have probablly seen THE HUNTED well I'm thinking of trying to make the knife that Del toro makes at the end out of a leaf spring from an old truck.
Other than good steel what else would I need to get the job done?Tool advice,anything your pool of knowlage can help with would be greatly apreatiated. Thanks :)
 
Do a search on this forum about the tutorials available.Read at least three books on knife making.Go to a hammer-in or another makers shop and spend a weekend watching.Then You will know what you need - and what to ask.
(my personal thoughts are that anyone who is learning a technical skill should read on it first.I believe Chiro read at least six books before he became a chiropractor.)

That was outrageous! I would have beat the hell out of him with the steel bar!!! :rolleyes:

I would find a teacher. You may have to travel a bit, but there is nothing better that instruction.
