Hi, my name is Wato and I'm a kukhaholic. [all together now: *hi Wato*]
I just bought my 4th khukuri which I swore would be Absolutely The Last... of course, I said that the other 3 times too. But I don't care-- I love 'em. I LOVE THEM!!! Bwahahahaha!

Glad I got that off my chest; no 12-step for me! :D
Anyway guys, Howdy

Welcome Wato. Is that your artwork? It has a David Cronenberg (The Fly, Naked Lunch) "feel" to it.

Yep, that's my doing. Just a ballpoint doodle on receipt paper, done at work. I post 'em on my site for the amusement of my colleagues, got 31 pics up now at last count.

Welcome. You do hands and feet really well. They're challenging. Good work.

What 4 khuks?

My 4 kukhs: 18" WWII, wood handle, 15" BAS and 18" Sirupati, both horn handle, my latest is Tora's 'Forces' model, just shy of 18".
Few people could easily surpass me in ignorance of Japanese myths/heroes. My username is simply a run-together of 2 of my names. Glad you like the art, though. If you're curious, you can glance at my site:

Not much to it yet, only had it maybe 2 weeks. I have hopes for it, still learning as I go.

Welcome to club, Watco

Hi Wato.
I like khuks too. I knew when I had my first HI khuk I'd found the right wilderness/companion/work knife for me.

Word of caution; be carefull how you use those 'bwahahahaha" lines. There's a psychotic Duck running around and stuff like that perks his attention. He's not dangerous precisely, but quacks so much it becomes hard to think straight.

Welcome.

Welcome!...........Lets see you have 4 now,..........................

When you pass the 40 count, see me, I'll help.

Welcome Wato:)

Pull up a stool and keep your sense of humor fully engaged

This is an amazing group of people with diverse interests and talents. and as I can see by your artwork you will add to it nicely.

Thanks for the welcome guys. Did someone say *40* khuks?? Hooboy. It seems I have some catching up to do.

....some people own hundreds, Wato. I think I'm around 20 khuks in my collection.

To quote the late founder of HI, Bill Martino : "debt is good!":D

Wow, I'm within hollering distance of Nirvana :D My favorite UB quote is: 'What has this to do with kukhuris? Everything!' One senses behind that quote what I can only describe as pure joy. I regret extremely that I never got to meet him.
