Last week for his birthday some kind folks got my son a $50.00 gift certificate to a local sporting goods store for his seventh birthday. He wanted to use it on a knife, so I went with him to help him pick it out. After a lot of looking, he finally decided on a Spyderco Navigator.

He felt te feet tall walking out of that store with the little plastic bag in hand. It made me proud. :)

I know the feeling. My seven year old daughter bought her first SAK about a year ago. It was a great day for both of us.

Wow, what a nice story.
When my brother gets older, I'll buy him a knife and maybe he'll be the same. For now, he is restricted to playing with my chive.

Since his choice manifested such obvious good taste (Could it be hereditary?), I threw a little extra in the kitty.

Seriously, the knife, tax and all, came to about $59.00.

very cool story nothing makes me happier than a little one getting started in such a great hobby.
