A nice package

I presume it's just a reflection of the fabric, but it looks like it's missing metal just in front of the bend in the blade (bottom picture)?

No this is a chitlangi, and they have a "step" there in the blade.

Let me try to communicate a little more effectively...

In the bottom picture, the area between the tip to the blade the the shoulder, looks like the chirra was ground through. But if it's simply a Chitlangi than I assume that my earlier assumption about it just being a reflection is true.

I like the case (and the blade of course) though.

Chitlangi have a closed cho or chirra an deep fullers like an angh khola, with a step added in on the underside.

Oh, when words fail... Then must man resort to pictures.

This is what I was trying, albeit ineffectually, to describe what I was seeing on my screen. For a little while I had thought that maybe you'd had something custom made to look extra ferocious.

Nope, those are just the very deep fullers of the chitlangi. When looking at teh spine, they appear to almost have a step to them because they are so deep.

I'll be giving this package as a gift to someone famous while on thr air, and hopefully we'll be able to get HI on TV by doing that. I've got my fingers crossed anyway.
