I bought this one on the cheap with a thought of reselling - but now that it's here, I think I'll keep it...

Original owner late 1970's RMK Model #1-7 with some nice options - stainless steel blade, thumb notches in the dip, squared brass single hilt, standard spacers for the period, black Micarta handle, lanyard hole w/lanyard, original owners name etched on obverse, original tight stitched JRB sheath with stone pocket removed and newer Kydex sheath w/Tek-Lok.

Ultra-lightweight, fast in the hand, and razor sharp...it's a nice piece of gear. (thanks Chris!)

That is a great looking blade. I personally can't imagine taking the stone pocket off of the sheath but what do I know.
Is the Micarta green or black? It's always hard to tell on my monitor.

Mack, it's black - cutting off stone pockets and engraving names was all the rage back in the 1960's and '70's...and some would say that stone pocket removal makes for a much lighter, more user friendly, i.e. snag free carry. Today, of course, you can just order a no-hone sheath... :D

Thank you sir. I often see their green micarta and it looks black on my screen so I had to ask. Since receiving your book I am slowly falling in love with the model 1.
Something tells me that I will be getting one for my second Randall.
