....i'll have more on the way though, this is my first attempt at something realistic

I don't really know what to say about these designs. They are not really to my liking. The first one just looks out of proportion and I do not care for knives where the handle is way above the cutting edge. They feel weird to me. The second one looks very impractical to me. Ok as a piece of art maybe but not as a user. Maybe I am missing something, please let me know what these are meant to be. Are they designs you are thinking about doing or just some fun ideas that you had?

Please do not consider my criticism to be be meant to discourage your efforts to design knives. I think you should keep it up. Eventually you could even come up with something that I would like. That however shouldn't matter to you at all. I only wanted to point out my preferences so that you would know my thoughts.

I think there is some awesome creativity in the second "knife", if that is IN FACT what it is. The FIRST knife has some wonderful potential, and with a slightly thicker handle would be something I would think might find a market. I am a NEWBIE, so take this for what it is worth, but the second picture looks like some "error pieces" of whatever steel it is, made into some type of an art form and for the life of me I can see no pratical use, even in star wars......But Yup, I would stick it in my knife case, and I bet everyone would say
"what IS it?, So, make a few!!!!

....for the feedback....i dont take offense to anything, but that doesnt matter since no one said anything offensive....ha ha ha....i'll continue to try and design many different types....probably will stick to fantasy, but it wouldnt hurt if one day i can find the time and resources to make some of these reality....in the end be it a fantasy or "realistic design....i usually try to make them something that would be a show piece....since this is a viable art....in any case here is the next one....:

P.S...."if you make it....they will come"....also can be translated into...."if they like it....more will come"....ha ha ha

OH OH OH, well...well...UM....UM...the last pic of your design is a work of art. Make that into a folder and that would be one hell of a EDC!!!! Put me on the list for that one. Call it the 4Q2

Having the blade lower than the handle is efficient for slicing. A good kitchern knife should be built this way, so you can slice food without banging your knuckles on the cutting board.

A kukri, or the deep recurve of the Vaquero Grande, also puts a heavy cutting edge forward for more power chopping.

What this design concept lacks is precision in close-up work, like whittling or skinning, or dissecting.

However having a guard BELOW the drop blade sort of destroys this virtue.

I do sort of like the idea of a straight back blade that is below the handle line though sort of a persian puukko.

....the first knife is impractical....ha ha ha....here is a folder design....this one was diagrammed each piece so if it was made it would be a usable liner....probably....ha ha ha....:
