Nice, thanx for sharing friend. That is inspiring, makes me want to get out in the woods. Thanx!

I was in New Zealand a year and a half ago. What a gorgeous place. What area were these shots taken?

I love threads like this. I get to see places I never would be able to see otherwise. Going into the woods for the day, starting a fire, drinking a cup of tea, then returning. Can't beat it.

Sure looked nice there ! I hope the ML is exactly what you were hoping for in a outdoors knife, it looks perfect from here. Just some beautiful pics !

Beautiful area. Looks like a great place to go hiking, too. Thanks for the pics

Wow guys thankyou all dearly for the kind words,

prsfx, thankyou if my humble pics get you out there Im very happy indeed.

alfred, Im in southland 40minutes south of Queenstown. I quite often just go for a wander, brew up over a fire and have a bite to eat, very relaxing, as much as I love hiking and hunting sometimes alot of satisfaction can be gained from such a simple act.

Clayton, Im really enjoying my ML knives, I very happy with the purchase, the more I use them the more I like them.

Joe, the containers are systema snap locks available at any supermarket overhere very very cheap, they are a bit bulky but they last well, are water proof and by far the best Ive come across, as you know there is nothing worse that a wet teabag or soggy bread!!!

Great pics Stewey. Looks like an awesome wander! I have always wanted to go to NZ, that would be one of the few places in the world I'd go through the crap of commercial travel without having to be paid to do so.

thankyou Mist!!!!

Great shots, thanks for sharing. What did you use for tinder? Looked like cotton and Vaseline? I always enjoy the walks and wanders y'all post here. It always inspires me to do some of my own.

Ive been using kerosene cotton balls lately, they burn a bit quicker than vaseline cotton balls but they light damn easy I also find them easier to make. Thankyou for the kinds words and comments!!

Kerosene huh? I've never tried it. I've been using cotton balls and mineral oil with great results. I always enjoy testing and trying new techniques and methods so ill have to do kerosene. I see a potential home brewed comparison test between Vaseline, kerosene, mineral oil, etc in my future perhaps....

My friends and I have started doing this on our day hikes. Usually start off at the trailhead early in the morning with a cup of coffee, then lunch, soup, tea, or what have you. Build a nice little fire while we eat (using established fire pits/rings). That tends to be my favorite part of the day when the weather is rough. I love it.

Looks like a really nice place for some woods exploration. Thanks for posting your pics.
