I don't have much time to go out and play on the forums as much as I'd like to. I do spend a bit of time on this forum and enjoy it for the range of information and innovative creations that you guys come up with.
I make knives, but mostly, I make straight razors these days. I have a backlog right now that will keep me very busy for the next few years. I kinda wish I had a bit more time to have a handful of razors I could take to a knife show some time soon, but it would do no good if I have nothing available to sell. I used to really enjoy going to the shows in the mid 90's. Anyway, I have just finished a project with a straight razor "theme".
I noticed all the guys on the razor forums going gonzo over the really wide blades for a long time. Seems the wider the blade, the more folks liked them. Since I had already tackled the wide blade thing with the manufacture of a 12/8's monster, I figured I do something different. (Razor folk use eighths of an inch to describe blade widths without reducing them to a least common denominator. Consequently, a 3/4 inch wide blade is not really 3/4's in the razor world. It is 6/8's.)
So... I decided to make a Celtic flavored battle axe that can actually be used to shave with... comfortably shave with. Here is what I came up with.

Steel is CM-154. Scales are mastodon. I customized the "poly" coffin box to accept the axe. The axe is right at 6 inches long. The engraving is also mine.
