Hey Everybody...
This is just a quick update on why I am in Arizona....www.KnifeRights.org held a strategy planning meeting this weekend...The board and several of our highly valued but, unofficial advisors met for two days with a facilitator (herding cats would have been a LOT easier) to keep a dozen very bright people focused on a vision of knifedoms future......
The whole reason for Knife Rights existence is to ensure that you and I will continue to have the freedom to continue to own and enjoy the use of our knives and to stave off the horrible crap the nannies have visited on our european knife owning friends My own personal view is that right now all over our country there are laws now and threats of laws in the offing to carrying so much as a two or three inch pocket knife ..Just check out your state and local laws and rejoice if you are in one of the areas (and they are shrinking fast) that are relatively liberal .in many cases I think they will bring on a sense of disbelief at the outright stupidity and aggressive ignorance of their framers ..BTW David Wongs KNIFE LAWS OF THE FIFTY STATES is the most complete resource I know of I know of NO resource that is all inclusive .If you care to check out a particularly silly example of whackadoodle lawmakers in a VERY pro-gun place that is usually MUCH smarter than this check out the case which got Knife Rights involved in New Hampshire at www.KnifeRights.org...........
As a lifelong Knife Nut, collector and user who ended up in the industry which makes the stuff of a lifelong passion, I NEVER expected to find myself as a PUBLIC advocate for the tools that are my hobby, as well as part of my livelihood .Nor did I ever expect to find myself in the exhaled company of those I spent the weekend with ..There were some household names there from both the Outdoor and Freedom communities (Naturally a LOT of crossover there) and good to the last verbal riposte each and every one .Let us be clear---this was humbling company indeed .A VERY exciting time .Much good will come out of this for our community GREAT STUFF .
I will be getting a portable computer thingy (laptop) before my next excursion so that I can be more in touch with you all ..
All Best .
