Here is a Gossman custom I had finished at BRKT. I asked Scott to make me a "Mora-Inspired" blade blank. Jim Stewart of BRKT fame put the handles on it for me in a pinch. This is one sweet blade and at only 3/32" thick, a real slicer. I'll take this Americanized full-tang Mora with me anyday. If you couldn't tell, it is the top blade in the photo.

Hey Kev - not a bad looking blade there. I like the use of color in the handle, which will make it stand out in the woods. I'm not a huge fan of bright colors, orange, yellow, etc as a knife handle - but I think that color really is useful as a contrasting color while still remaining subdued a bit.

I like it!

An update on this knife.

I've used it now for a while now for general purpose and as a slicer in the kitchen. It is the real deal! This blade slices better than anything I've ever seen thanks to the super thin stock. It has a really nice feather feel to it and handles the duty of a folder but with the security of a fixed blade. Considering I use a bow saw and an axe for most of my heavy work, this blade doesn't get pressed into heavy service. However, I did try some light battoning and carving through hardwood and there was no damage to the blade.

Guys, I'm kind of falling in love with thin slicers. In addition to having my dedicated 4" blade on my belt, this one will ride in my pack for light duty camp use. It weighs nothing and I won't feel overburdened to carry it too.

Very cool Kev, I like that guy a lot  Great to have a nice slicer to pack along.

Sounds great Kev. That is actualyl a convex scandi. I did it on the rotary platen instead of the flat platen.
