Hello everyone,

Things have been very hectic for me lately, but this weekend I found myself with some time (I injured my back, so that made it difficult to do a whole lot) and the forum's very own JackHammer happens to live down the road a little ways from me, so when he asked me if I could make a sheath for one of his knives I figured I would be able to get it done and back to him in a reasonable amount of time. I'm still not officially taking orders again--sorry, everybody!--but I might be able to sneak in one-off sheaths every now and then. In any case, here is the knife and its new sheath:

I have to say, I was very impressed with this little knife! This little guy has a really beefy blade (almost 1/4" thick), a sturdy drop point and a half-height convex grind, and when I first saw it I didn't think it would be big enough for my hand, but when I picked it up it fit perfectly and felt like an extension of my hand. The sheath is a butterfly fold-over sheath made of 7-9oz horsehide leather, hand textured, dyed, distressed and stitched by me--not too shabby for not having made a sheath for most of the year, I suppose :P

Looks great. I've missed seeing your work here. It is some of the most recognizable leather work I've seen.
I hope your back is healing and life is treating you well.

Great sheath, is that the compact survival knife? Might have to bump it up the list on that recommendation.

I've admired your work here on the forum and I hope you do take orders again sometime again, thanks for the pictures

I've been after Noah to make this sheath for quite some time now but understood that his personal situation came first, so I just had to be patient. After seeing the finished product, I believe it was worth the wait.

Congrats Jack!

I have only one sheath from Noah, but I also have one of his excellent belts - I wear it nearly every day, and it is outstanding.

Hang in there Noah, take care of yourself!

Thanks for posting your pictures -

best

Good to see another from the wastelands.
Thanks for the pics of a great sheath & knife Noah.
I hope your back is improving & you can get back at it on a regular basis, everyone loves your work.

Thanks, everyone! My main hold-up with getting back into doing leatherwork regularly is still my mother-in-law's cancer, so until that is under control I won't be able to tell when I will need to be out of town and for how long, but I will definitely let you all know when I can get back into it! As for my back, I've had some chiropractic visits and a massage, and it is improving but will take a while--it isn't a serious injury, but a painful one that will lead to something serious if I don't take care of it now.

By the way, John, I really like this knife! Someday I may just need to get myself one in 1/8" steel :)

Very nice! Great looking knife and sheath combo. Hope you get better, Noah. And best wishes to your mother in law.
