Sweet gear Shelby! All you need now is a laser sight, 4 position extendable buttstock, accessory rail with Surefire light and foregrip, and a beltfed memory stick system! Oh, and an SOE vest designed to carry all of the parts too :)

Crayola,

LOL!

The M951 light mounted on my camera is very very useful when I want to take long range shots at night. The standard IR illuminators onboard the 707 are adequate but range is limited. It also works well when you have wide angle/telephoto conversion lenses attached as I do on the photos above. The reason for this is because the IR actually reflects back into the main lense when the conversion lense is on. Kinda like a mirror effect. Thus, by disableing or even covering the sony IRs, I use the SureFire + a telephoto conversion to get good clear long range shots. I use the SF without the IR cover to get some sharp photos without a tripod on a specific center with a decently fast shutter speed even if it is pitch black outside.

The belt fed mem stick isnt' a bad idea;)

AO,

Awesome setup with that Gitzo.

Reminds of when I used to shoot Mamiya RB, heh...

I'm more curious about how your lighting setup is? (After all, that's your SECRET secret weapon... it ain't the size of the lens, it's the motion of the softbanks ;) )

Would you mind revealing your lighting setup?
Unless it's too secret, of course.

Thanks!

Biogon, Burke,

The lighting provided for the photos above was nothing more than a $50 IKEA shoji type three flourescent bulb that my GF though was nice. It always seemed to put out smooth even light without the whiteness of flourescent provided the paper shade is on. Almost creates the softbox-like results. I took these photos using my other digital camera.

Biogon,
When I take detailed photos of Striders and SureFire lights, I mostly use my Elinchrom Scanlite Digital 1000Cs. Two of them. Along with
a couple of Elinchrom Rotalux softboxes. Both are 27"
