I haven't been posting much up...super busy finishing my book. Last night my daughter took (some  ) of my knives and divided them into families. Then we organized em all pretty so y'all could ogle them. Any questions or insights appreciated as always. Cheers!

Dan,
what's the first knife on the right in the second row?
Just kidding. You have a very nice collection with big variety :)
I'm glad your book is done. I changed my email address and lost your email, so if you want send me a PM and I'll email you back :)

I see several knives that could be featured in the "small knives" thread. And, I see a 200A silver knight in wood on the bottom row.

I like the EO knives also but I won't ask you to name them all. Nope not me. Somebody will but not me - nope. :D nice collection.

Most of the easy opens were made by PAL. Inlcluding the one in question (that's the one I dropped on my foot and severed a tendon with). Bottom row, that's a Gerber Silver Knight. Classy little knife. ;)

Fausto, I was just admiring your knife today and put it back into the everyday rotation.

This raises the question- what is a grouping of knives known as?
for instance "a leap of leopards" "a parliament of owls" a herd of elephants"
"a pod of orcas" "a load of bollocks" etc etc is it a "collection of knives ","a pack of knives", or is there a term specifically for knives?

Hopefully not the same as for crows!

Love it! A "Murder of knives". I am a recent convert to traditional folders and it looks like a great collection.

Is the one o the lower right hand corner the elusive "toe knife"?

Kiding aside, my iquiry is about the 1st from left in the 3rd(ish) row? Looks like carved lead scales?

That one on the third row looks like an Imperial toothpick, they had pressed tin scales painted black, when some of the paint wore off and the tin aged makes it look like lead.

Thanks Stan. I thought it may have been scales which were once painted.

Appreciate your help.

I've looked at this picture several times; trying to figure out the method of deciding "families" and "sorting". The only conclusions I've come to are 1) that women's thought processes develop along different lines fairly early, and 2) you've got a pretty good collection no matter how it's laid out.

Dan, that´s a great collection of knives you almost have there. (And even an Ankermesser :D )

I always enjoy reading your posts.

Kind regards
Andi

Thanks everybody. Yeah, it was really interesting watching my girl sort the knives. Really cute. You know, I would have done something boring like putting all the TL-29s together or something. She had a whole story about the 'families', too. ;)

Nice collection my friend! I'm sure you enjoy them all. Thanks for sharing.....

Dan,
that knife is yours, and yours alone, and I'm happy about it :)
It's funny to picture your daughter dividing knives into families though
Oh, and let us know more about your book in Carl's lounge :)

I propose a "cut of knives".
