A Package from Jack

Several months ago, I commented in a thread about how I was looking for and hadn't found a ring opener. Jack let me know he would find one for me. I was pleasantly surprised by his offer.

Jack diligently kept a ring opener in mind on his various trips to shops over the following months. I have no idea how many places he checked, but imagine someone who you have never met doing that for you.

Jack sent me a PM at the beginning of the year to say "At Last" he had found one.



But Jack sweetened his gift with items he knew would interest me. He knows I hike a lot, so he asked if I had a traditional compass. I said I didn't.

When the package arrived today, this is what was in there. Several other great items in addition to the knife and compass; a whistle, an old English penny (from late in the reign of Queen Victoria) and a postcard with Sheffield scenes (C. 1875). What a group of treasures!



This forum is a great place to hang out and Jack is one of the big reasons it feels like home.

Jack's care packages are schweet. The knives are great, I personally haven't seen many double ring openers, but the other thoughtful inclusions are killer. Compass is neat, but the penny(old tradition), whistle, and card just add that touch of magic. It's like getting a present from your favorite traveling uncle or aunt. Real care packages. Well received too RDaneel/Dean. Just cool.

Jack really is an amazing friend to all here. His packages that he sends everyone are legendary in that he personalizes each and every one of them. :cool:
