A packaging problem and I'm thinking inside the BOX!

So being somewhere around the top of my hill (46) I've bought and received quite a few knives over the years and being recently re-bitten by the bug I've been around town looking at knives at very few stores that carry them. I personally have been saddened by the way knives are displayed and the exchange of the cold modern times. Do you remember receiving a knife as a gift? just the sight of the box without knowing the model really got you reeling, Just slide her open and there she was with paperwork promising she was all you hoped for. Lets say you was searching for you next pocket partner, you would find them shrouded in glass and you had to be assisted by a kind knife butler who would allow you to fondle most of the queens in his case so you could assure satisfaction on purchase.
Now I face hooks with knives in blister packs and you have to find someone to unlock the ones over $50. cant feel it in your hand or inspect the finish. I know that this still exists in a few places, but I hate to think my grandson may never have that " something special" feeling you get from the experience. I'm thankful I get my Spydies in a nice box with a note saying we've got your back!
