The king and his little bother eskabar we're all scheduled to take a bath together until some heartless @#$% broke into my car and stole my backpack containing little eskabar, his fancy new bloodwood pants that tommythewho made just for him, his kydex coat from godspeed, and about $300.00 in physics and calculus text books. These fiendish, well educated criminals ruined my week, but I figured little eskabar would want the bk9 and I to go forth as planned

I hit it with some 120 grit followed by 600 (just what I had at the house) then gave it a vinegar bath for about 40 minutes

Does anyone know how to give it that dark uniform grey? I'll definitely be saving up for a new bk14 and all the goodies. That was my favorite edc knife I have ever carried.

Lol maybe they'll use the knowledge contained in that backpack to enrich their lives. I just hope the bk14 doesn't end up on the wrong side of any
altercations...:(

The power of Becker will curse them and they won't be able to stop cutting their fingers and will return it to you

Gun blue might be a good bet for greying out the blade. You can also leave it soaking in vinegar for a few hours.

Total bummer dude. I despise thieves man... to the point that it be more dangerous to me if I were to catch one...

A white vinegar patina on a CLEAN blade. Wash it with hot soapy water and then rub it down with rubbing alcohol and a paper towel... DONT TOUCH THE METAL. Keep your hands off of the blade and after rubbing it with alcohol, rub it down with white vinegar paper towel. Just a couple of passes and blow on it to help it dry... or have a fan near by. Rub the vinegar on and let it dry repeatedly for about 10 min or so...

Once you're done, rinse it off and wipe it down with a clean paper towel. Should have a nice uniform patina. I usually strop the blade grinds afterwards too. The polished edges look good to me and makes it nice and smooth.

Here's my newest 2 that I did just that to this weekend:

Sorry about the backpack, hopefully the police catch him doing some other stupid sh*# and find your backpack and knife. And go with a warm apple cider vinegar or white vinegar bath. My bk2 came out in a nice dark grey with acv uploadfromtaptalk1347970992751.jpg

Another reason I love this forum!

Thanks for going way above and far beyond Godspeed!!!

I have an extra BK11 you can have. Just PM me the address and ill send it out asap. It's just a little used

Kevin Oubre and Godspeed- true gentlemen. Way to go, this is the stuff that makes a forum great.
As for the thieves- I hope karma gets them for every dollar of value they stole.

Seriously.. I'm not a member of any other forums and I joined this one becuase whenever I search for information there's never any bickering or pointless meanness. I even feel comfortable posting becuase I know that what I say (even when stupid) will be gently recieved and tastefully responded to. People seem to really respect each other and have a true sence of community that is rare in the physical and digital world. Thank you so much KevinOubre and Godspeed. The loss in text books set me back, so your kindness is humbling.
