A pair for my parents

I'm not sure what to call these. I think they're kwaiken. The blades are about 3" long, of O1. The handles and scabbards are made from single pieces of curly hickory (from my firewood pile) and mahogany (given to me by mete). Finish is lacquer.

No I didn't remember ! Now I remember where it came from . I;m happy to see it go to a good cause .It was that or the wood stove like for tonight's 5 F ! I'll put a photo in my file.
 
Lovely pair there. I was expecting to see a kitchen knife set, not Kwaiken!

Normally I'm not a fan of chisel-ground knives, but those look really trick. :thumbup:
