In May of 2000, I picked up a new BM ATS-34 705STB. I edc'd the knife for about 3 years.... It was a great knife but I really grew to not like serrations. Even though the BM serrations work great and are easy to touch-up, I just didn't care for them... SO the knife was retired, which was unfortunate because I really think the size of the 705 is ideal for everyday use... It's just a down sized version of the popular 710, which is a nice knife but bigger than I like for everyday use.....

Just recently I was fortunate enough to get a N.I.B 705 ATS-34 without the serrations :D . The ironic thing is the new one is marked May 2000 on the blade, the same month and year as my other one ....

The last few years I have been carrying and collecting slip joint knives, but this new 705 went in pocket as soon as I got it.

nice score. I wish I'd picked one of those up when I had the chance.

I have a combo edge black one too. WELL used.

Still a nice little knife, still smooth as hell.

I found one in a dusty box in a knife shop a year ago or so. I kick myself every day for buying it at $95.

The handle is a little smaller than I'd like, but the blade size is perfect. Lately I've been thinking about replacing my 710 with something just a bit shorter because for a lot of things the nearly 4 inch blade just gets in the way where a smaller blade is more useful.

For some reason I just don't like the 707.

whats the cheapest going price on these nowadays?

or whats the closest tthing to these?

I think the closest thing now is the 707. IIRC it is just a little longer(appx 4").
The 705's have been discontinued for a while now and still seem to bring a good price on the bay.

I was going through my knives last night and found my 705.... its been awhile.
It really is a nice knife.

That's a classic. I've had my 710 since 2000, but it really hasn't seen a whole lot of use. Should have gone with the smaller version, before they were discontinued. :(

But, thumbs-up on a classy, hardworking pair of tools!

Yeah, but the 710 has a recurve. The 707 is basically the 710 except smaller and no recurve, right? So if this is the same size as the 707, then it's a 707 with G10? Or am I mistaken?

The 707 has a wider blade

Thanks.. I tried for a long time to like the 710 because its a bigger version of the 705, it just didn't feel right. I tend to stay with knives that are around 4 inches.
