In the three months that I've been carrying the Northwoods stockman, it's done everything I needed from a pocket knife. I really love being back with a stockman, and having the choice of three blades on tap. But…being the afflicted knife knut, I find that sometimes I just like to have another along. The Sardinian resolza keeps popping up on my radar, and hitching a ride, especially when Karen and I have a picnic. The resolza has taken over the outdoor dining duties from the Opinel. In fact, the Opinel now lives in the kitchen drawer, and is never carried but does paring knife jobs in the kitchen. The Italian has done in the French guy. The way Karen keeps eyeing the Resolza, I think I'm going to be challenged to keep possession of it.

What's your favorite pair?

That resolza is just beautiful. Lately an 80's alox pioneer and a great eastern bullet end jack have accompanied me. . .The bullet end has jet black ebony covers and is in a two blade configuration. Now the pioneer is the beginning to an addiction, I'm seriously considering ordering a custom haha. . .both were gifted to me by CJZ. :)

Cool thread Carl. These two find their way into my pocket more then any others. I use the Case/Bose WT for whittling and other daily chores around the house or fishing. The little Ohta always travels in the small pocket of my mission wallet and comes out for little tasks in public.

My daily carried pair of knives is currently the Victorinox Alox Cadet and the Buck 303 Cadet in yellow Delrin.

At least for the year or so I have owned it, the Vic Cadet is my always knife and the other slot is subject to change. However, my rotation period has slowed dramatically, to where I carry the same knife in the #2 slot for months on end. It was the Case Small Texas Jack for the first 4 months of the year, and has been the Buck 303 since then. I may go with something different on weekends on occasion, but in general it's just those two.

I have too many carry knives for any combo to be considered "regular," but this one gets about as much as any other.

My go to combo has changed from the Charlow and Tribal Spear to that Remington peanut and Tribal Spear, or peanut and micro Kephart fixed blade.

The Wheeler finds it way into my pocket more often than not - its just too easy to carry, it goes in the back pocket behind the wallet and disappears.

The Erickson is my daily companion and always resides in the coin pocket of my pants (won't buy bottoms without the 'knife' pocket).

These two cover all the cutting needs one could imagine, especially the recurved blade in combo with the standard, drop point, bellied blade.

The Erickson is on public duty (meaning thats the one i'll pull out if i need to use a knife in public) while the Wheeler comes along mostly just because (tho it sees most of the in house work).

My normal cutting tasks are easily handled by my #73 so I don't usually carry two knives other than on weekends and casual Fridays when I pair it with modern folder. However, every so often I augment the stag with a piece of ivory.

It's not that I need the swayback. It's just that on Sundays and such, I want to carry something a bit more fancy. I suppose I could swap out one for the other, but I've become a bit attached to the #73. I wouldn't feel right stepping out the door without it in my pocket.

Since the spring of the year I've pretty much carried a Vic Electrician Plus and a GEC 73. I do use the saw quite frequently - cutting small tree roots when transplanting or digging in the yard, sawing unwanted woody plants that want to spring up everywhere, and even trimming an occasional tree branch if I don't have a proper saw handy.

The electrician blade (I consider it a sheepsfoot) deals with the blister packaged items that so many things come in nowadays. And even though I'm retired my wife has been working me pretty hard this year, so I've had to use the awl to cut a couple new holes in my leather belt! ;)

The Vic is a tool - and a darn good one at that - but still, only a tool.

The 73 I bought on the exchange here earlier this year and it's been in the watch pocket of my jeans ever since. It came with some pretty nice stag - I darkened the mark side a little with some Fiebing's leather dye to better match the pile side - and (for a GEC 73) a surprisingly nice & easy pull of "5". Anyway, that's my go-to knife for all my normal knife chores and to satisfy my desire to carry something in addition to a tool. :)
