No, they're not mine. :grumpy:

I only wish...

But they are here for your viewing enjoyment. First up is a collaboration piece between Dan and Greg Neely. I don't have the blow-by-blow on who did what, but I think it a safe bet that the blade is Greg's and the handle Dan's:

Next up is a stag / wood carbon number that is signature Farr in many respects:

Both pics by Point Seven.

Congrats to the lucky new owners!

Dan does some fantastic work.

I have an older sheephorn handled hunter in forged 52100 which is a great knife.

Great guy as well.

After staking out Mr. Dean for over an hour, and completing business, casually sauntered over to Dan's table, and enquired on the knife you have pictured....there was a SFI chap who fancied this one, but when interest was shown, he said I could pick from the two Dan had there, and this one was the keeper.

It is really nice, as if you didn't already know!(and is not for sale...I will contact the appropriate authorities, should that change)

Best Regards,

STeven Garsson

Congrats on a fine knife (and fine choice), STeven.

That Stag and wood hunter is as Nice a hunter as they come
WOW

I enjoyed meeting Dan - again - in Reno. He's a fun guy, personnable to boot, and his work is impeccable. I was sorry not to find any bowie or dagger on his table. Though I certainly respect his choices, someone with such a strong commitment to F&F should make some nice, big display pieces.

congratulations, steven! gorgeous knife!

i also like the neely/farr collaboration, if only the blade was be a bit longer as an optical counterweight to the stout handle. however, i would love to own either of the knives.

regards,
hans

I agree with you Joss - I'd like to see some more large pieces from Dan. Perhaps a damascus competition cutter to match my carbon steel version. ;) Dan - consider this an official request for a bowie or three at Blade. :)

Roger

A real treat to see these. Beautiful work! Congratulations to thar crusty ol' pirate.

Roger,
Thanks for posting. Dan is an a true talent, i knew these would be good!

I love the integration f Dan's sweeping grinds and handles - they just look right!!!!

Roger, you went through Dan's 'boot camp', didn't you? We spoke about it (briefly) at Wulf's Hammer-In, and afterward Dan mentioned to me that the offer was open to me, and I've just not had enough time to pester him. The shame of it is that I'm only an hour away from him - maybe I should be making time...

An hour away? Dude, what are you waiting for! If you go some time after the snow is behind us, let me know. If I can tag along, I will. I want to re-profile the handle on my hunter ever so slightly. And maybe pound out a mid-size bowie if I'm up to some real work.

PM sent, so I can stop hijacking this thread!:D

Thanks for the kind words! I struggled with stag for years, but have got it to where I like it now. Also have a new method for attaching the wood butt caps that I have complete confidence in. The stag construction idea was stolen from a Fisk knife I own.

Matt, Roger, sounds like another fun knife weekend coming up.... I look forward to it.

Dan
